U15s play first match against strong Ballynahinch side

The Girls U15's created their own bit of Newry Olympic history last Saturday 5th June, when they played their very first match.

They whole team played really well against very strong and much more experienced opponents from Ballynahinch. Although ending  the match with a 5-0 loss, the Newry girls fought well and held their own for most of the game, they were only down 1-0 at half-time. It was a fantastic effort for their first time together.

Thanks to Jonny Gregg and Colin Henning for all their hard work coaching the girls before and during the match; and also for their post-match encouragement.  The girls were buzzing after the game and are raring to get going again.

They shouldn't have too long to wait, as their next outing is scheduled at home again on Saturday 19th June, against Kilkeel.
