Boyne Blitz at Belfast Road

On Saturday 12th June 2021, Boyne Hockey Club from Drogheda in Co Meath, travelled to Newry with a great number of juniors and spectators for the latest hockey blitz. It was obvious to see that all the juniors loved the small sided games in the sun, cheered on by their coaches and parents. Both clubs were very evenly matched with most games only being separated by the odd goal.

With the blitz coming to an end it was great to hear the cheers of "yessss!" when the juniors were asked if they wanted to play one more game.

The close games continued throughout the day as our new ladies development team drew 0-0 with Boyne's B Team, followed by our Ladies 1st XI drawing 1-1 with Boyne's 1st XI.

It was a brilliant day filled with some great competitive hockey from start to finish and lots of new friends made!
