Newry Olympic Ladies 0-1 Derg Valley

Newry ladies kicked off their league campaign with a frustrating 1-0 defeat at home to Derg Valley.

Fielding a side with plenty of youth, Newry will count themselves unlucky to not have come away with something from the match, having missed a hat full of chances throughout the game.

Derg Valley scored from their second short corner in the second quarter of the game, with a lucky deflection off a Newry defender's stick.

Newry dominated much of the play, forcing 7 corners of their own, but were unable to convert any of their chances.

Newry travel to Larne next Saturday hoping to get back on track
