Halloween Hockey Camp Success
Halloween Hockey Camp attendees get their first cap!

The Newry Olympic Halloween Hockey Camp on Monday 27 October was a fantastic success with nearly 50 kids turning up for a full day of fun, hockey, games and the opportunity to make new friends.
With a record number of attendees the big turnout was divided into three Halloween themed groups - Pumpkins, Zombies and the Wizards.
Newry Olympic Head Coach Francesca Santoro Ferrer, had prepared a full plan of Halloween hockey related activities for each group throughout the day.
Games such as the Monster Run, Cups & Cauldrons, Ghost Chase, Monster Maze, the Zombie Tunnel Challenge and the Witches Hat Dribble race ensured everyone was kept engaged and busy on the pitch, before finishing up with group hockey matches at the end of the day
Fresh fruit and snacks kept the energy levels up during the breaks.
After lunch, a Good Relations workshop on diversity and inclusion, was delivered by Richard Forsythe of Forsythe Consulting, providing older participants with valuable insights and learning experiences. The younger attendees spent time on Arts & Crafts, creating some very impressive Halloween masks and spaceships, while also having the opportunity for some really colourful face painting.
Before the final games of the day and the highly competitive matches back on the pitch, Coach Fran presented all the participants with their first Newry Olympic cap, in recognition of the awesome effort everyone had put in throughout the camp!
Thanks go to our own brilliant club coaches,
Fran, Becky, Judith, Shannon and Rachel who ensured everyone improved their hockey skills while having great fun doing it!
