Club training suspended until 14th Nov 2020

21 October 2020

Following the NI Executive’s announcement on 14th October

The Ulster Hockey Management Board has considered the implications of the restrictions on hockey, particularly in relation to training and has advised that all hockey club training is now suspended until 14th November 2020.

Factors for this decision include:

  • The interpretation of the term ‘No Contact’ in the new legislation, and the implications to members where this is breached.
  • Escalating spread of COVID across our communities.
  • The health and well-being of our members.
  • Some key risks around travel where we consider there is a potential that continued hockey training may facilitate the transmission of the virus.
  • Clubs may be unable to access their usual training facilities which are run by local authorities or schools.

The COVID situation is ever-changing and Ulster Hockey will continue to monitor the situation and will react to any changes in government advice.
