Norman Baird - Club President

All in Newry Olympic Hockey Club were deeply saddened at the sudden loss of our esteemed Club President and long serving member, Norman Baird on Wednesday 6 August 2025.

Norman was a remarkable person, and his passing has left a void that is deeply felt in the Newry hockey community, past and present. Newry Olympic will always cherish the time Norman spent volunteering at the club, supporting all the teams and giving of his time at over a decade of events.

His genuine affection for Newry Olympic Hockey club was truly inspiring. He touched so many lives with his kindness and strength. His memory will continue to inspire us.

As a club we are thinking of and praying for Norman’s wife Karen, son and Club Chairman Andrew, daughter and club member Kathryn, his sister Gillian and the extended family circle during this difficult time.

There are no words to truly express the sorrow we feel for their loss. May they find comfort in the love and support of those around them and may the cherished memories of Norman bring the family and friends peace in the days ahead.
