Newry's unbeaten run continues against Banbridge!

Newry Olympic U15's started the game against Banbridge brightly and it wasn’t long until they got their rewards, Rachel Harshaw carried the ball down the right wing cutting in and finishing a low shot into the goal.

Rachel added her second shorty after, with another well worked shot after good link up play with Leah Malcomson in midfield.

Casey Patterson grabbed her first goal on her first appearance of the season, managing to dispossess a Banbridge defender in the circle and then powering home a shot from close range.

Banbridge were unable to cope with the Newry attack and had limited opportunities in the first half. They did manage to grab a goal just before half time with a well worked penalty corner, however it was against the run of play.

Newry made a few changes at half time, giving some of their U13's some game time. This allowed Banbridge to gain some belief and the game became more competitive with both sides going close.

Erin Lowey had a good chance with a one-on-one, however the Banbridge goalkeeper made a super save.

In the closing minutes, Brianna Gregg grabbed her first goal and Olympic's fourth, with a superb effort from the edge of the circle.

The home defence held out once again this season, keeping a clean sheet with the usual solid performances from Olivia Allely, Caragh McGaffin, Alissa and Abby Moffett in goals. Anna and Lily-Mae Cully, two U13's playing in defence in the second half, also had great performances.
