Newry Olympic Ladies 2s 1-3 CI Ladies 6s

Newry Olympic Ladies 2s played CI Ladies 6s on Friday 8th November at home under the floodlights, at the Belfast Road ground.

Newry were unfortunate to be without four of their usual players, but started strong and were very close to scoring on a number of occasions during the first quarter.

In the second quarter CI started to push hard into the Newry corner and were the first to score, but the home side fought back and centre-mid Sarah Irwin slipped the ball through to the left wing Katie McFarland who grabbed the equaliser. 

After the halftime break, CI battled hard and scored again but the Olympic girls just couldn't find the CI net.

During the final quarter Newry won three consecutive corners, almost scoring twice but unfortunately ran out of time.
