Game over for 1's in first half
Newry Olympic Mens 1s hosted Bangor on Saturday, having had no game last week and following their opening league win vs Mossley.
The rustiness was showing with Bangor starting the brighter of the two sides and midway through the first quarter they got their first of the day. Things went from bad to worse for Newry as they conceded a second just minutes later after poor defending. Before the home side knew it, it was three. Again Bangor were gifted the goal by poor decision making at the back.
The game was nearly out of sight at half time.
With a change of tactics the home side started to get more joy on the attack and had a number of short corners saved well by the Bangor keeper. However they could not find a break through and were punished for their slow start.
