Mixed hockey team at South Antrim
After a few years absence, Newry are back in mixed hockey
Saturday 22nd June saw Newry Olympic attend the South Antrim Mixed Hockey Tournament in Lisburn.
Played at Friends School grounds, the team consisting of Chrissie McAuley, Laura Girvan, Laverne Inns, Sara Adams, Noah Lutton and John Macauley all played together against various teams from Ballymoney, Lisnagarvey and several teams from South Antrim.
The team played six matches, each lasting 12 minutes with no hitting, aerials or stick lifted about shoulder height allowed. With no extra players available to switch during the games, Newry did well to win some matches and lose the others.
Everyone in the team thoroughly enjoyed the day and hope that more members will take part next year.
