Olympic Ladies 2s earn a hard fought point against Bangor

On Saturday 30 November, Newry Olympic Ladies 2s travelled to Bangor Grammar School to play Bangor Ladies 5s.

Both sides were very much equal in the first quarter with chances to take the lead at each end.

In the second quarter Newry increased the pressure on the home side and Katie McFarland put the Olympic ahead just before half time.

Bangor came out fighting in the third quarter and eventually equalised.

In the final quarter, Abbey Moffett completed some amazing saves with Chrissie McAuley, Jodie Freeman and Rebekah McFarland showing some fantastic defence against the strong Bangor forward line. Outstanding at the back! Mids and forwards should also take a bow as they were tenacious in their fight, never giving up and were up and down the pitch like yo-yos....Sarah Lawson, Sarah Irwin, Naomi Dickson and Caragh McGaffin never stopping.

The full time whistle went and Newry took a well deserved draw!
